FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What are Dr. Wu's specialties?

Dr. Wu is a board-certified sports medicine specialist. His practice covers ultrasound-guided injections, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), freeze-dried platelet (PLT) injections, amniotic injections and prolotherapy, as well as sports injury diagnosis, rehabilitation exercise prescription, chronic musculoskeletal pain care, post-surgical rehabilitation, return-to-sport assessment and force-plate analysis.

Where does Dr. Wu practice?

Dr. Wu's main clinic is the sports medicine department of Landseed International Clinic in Taipei (3F, No. 77, Section 4, Ren'ai Road, Da'an District; phone +886-2-2721-6698). He also sees patients at Landseed International Hospital in Taoyuan (Tuesday morning) and serves as on-site physician at the National Sports Training Center in Kaohsiung (Friday, athletes at the center only).

What is PRP therapy?

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is an injection prepared from your own blood, using the platelets and growth factors it contains to support tissue repair. It is commonly considered for chronic tendinopathy, ligament injuries and mild-to-moderate osteoarthritis. Whether PRP is appropriate for you must be determined by a physician after an in-person evaluation.

How do I book an appointment?

The clinics run on appointments. For Landseed International Clinic in Taipei, call +886-2-2721-6698 or use the online booking system (Chinese interface). For Landseed International Hospital in Taoyuan, call +886-3-494-1234. Please arrive about 30 minutes before the end of the session; registration closes 30 minutes before each session ends.

How is an ultrasound-guided injection different from a regular injection?

An ultrasound-guided injection uses real-time imaging to confirm the needle-tip position. Compared with landmark-based (blind) injections, it can reach the target tissue more precisely and helps avoid nearby nerves and vessels. For tendon, ligament and intra-articular injections common in sports medicine, image guidance lets the physician adjust the path and depth to the individual lesion.

How soon can I return to sport after an injury?

Return-to-sport timing depends on the type of injury and individual recovery, not on time alone. The sports medicine approach evaluates four dimensions step by step — symptom resolution, functional recovery, sport-specific testing and psychological readiness — supported where needed by quantitative tools such as force-plate analysis and balance testing.
